Briotix Health

One of my favorite things about my job is “getting to know” other businesses. I enjoy getting an insiders view of the organizations I work with. I like to learn exactly what it is they do, what makes them unique and how to communicate that visually. Maybe it makes me a total dork but I find learning about my clients industry and market fun and fascinating.

I recently got an opportunity to shoot a bunch of commercial images for a health and wellness company, Briotix Health, who have an office here in Pewaukee. They provide workplace injury prevention, workplace safety performance, on-site physical therapy, and ergonomic assessments and training. They were in need of new images for their marketing collateral and my goal was to shoot them a library of custom images that they could use in a variety of applications.

I enjoy this type of shoot because I learn so much and it is such a collaborative experience. When I am on a commercial shoot I like to shoot tethered so the clients can see the images we’re creating on my computer screen in real time. This allows us to work together and ensures we’re getting exactly what they need. For example, Briotix teaches their customers workplace safety and injury prevention so we had to be very aware of our model’s body posture and hand placement in the images. I could not imagine shooting for a client like this without being able to receive their immediate input.

Shooting tethered also allowed us to move through the shoot fairly quickly. We had a lot to get done in a relatively short amount of time. The shot list included must haves from at least five different spaces. Once we knew we had the shots the client desired, we quickly moved on to the next spot.

It was a great shoot and both the client and I are happy with the end result. I can’t wait to see the images in the marketing material they are creating. If I am able to get my hands on a few copies I’ll be sure to share it on Instagram. For now, here are a few of my favorites from the day.

Are you ready to say no to stock? Custom images help pull in customers, they make your business more tangible, authentic and make people more willing to work with you because they see you instead of a set of cookie cutter models from a stock library.
