I recently spent the morning with employees from the City of Clive and members of the Clive Chamber of Commerce to grab some new headshots for their websites and social media pages. They were looking for professional portraits that had a more contemporary feel. We decided to set up in the Clive Library so we could get a natural background without having to be out in the cold.
This was also the first session that I was able to shoot tethered. Shooting tethered means I used a special cord to attach my camera to my laptop. After getting a few posing tips, I took a few shots and we reviewed the images on my laptop to see what we liked and what we didn’t like. Shooting tethered allowed the person being photographed and I to work together to get an image we were both happy with.
Shooting tethered has been a life saver when it comes to shooting high volume headshots! It helps ensure that the person in front of the camera is happy with the chosen image and it alleviates some of the stress and anxiety people feel when they are being photographed. It also helps me because I know exactly which image I will be applying advanced editing to, saving me time and guess work.
My first priority is a happy client, this is just one of the ways that I am able to make sure my clients are satisfied with my work.
Here are a few of my favorites from our session. The City of Clive and the Chamber of Commerce are such great groups of people! I am looking forward to finishing up at our next session in February!
